How to Become a Successful Blogger
Do you find yourself day dreaming about quitting your job and becoming a full-time blogger?
While most people day dream about it, not everyone brings these dreams to life. Fear of the unknown holds most people back.
This is sad because blogging offers you tremendous gains, and nothing to lose. Read on to learn how you can overcome any fears that keep you from achieving the goal of becoming a successful blogger.
Fear Setting
Fear setting is a series of steps designed to help you combat your fears. This exercise helps you to see where your weakness really lies, and what fears keep you from reaching higher goals.
First you assess yourself and make a list of what fears you have that hold you back. Are you afraid you will fail as a blogger and then struggle to get another job?
Are you afraid that your friends and family will think you are nuts for quitting your job to “‘play on the computer?” List every fear you may have, no matter how small.
Next, go down that list and ask yourself how realistic each fear is. Then write how you would deal with each fear if it were to materialize.
Would your friends and family really laugh at you if you quit your job and failed as a blogger? But it’s your life, so why should you care what others think.
Aren’t you smart enough and talented enough to find another job? Of course you are, and getting another job is always an option. Again, be truthful to yourself.
Make Blogging a Side Hustle
Those who are really passionate about blogging will always find a way to get the job done. If you don’t want to give up your day job, then blog at night and on the weekends. If you analyze your leisure time, you’ll discover areas where you are wasting time that can be used productively for blogging.
Many of today’s successful bloggers got their blog started in just this way. But it requires strong motivation and commitment to make this work, but you can do it.
Whatever time you can devote to your blogging will help you steadily grow a successful blog. The more time you put into your blog, the faster it will grow.
Once you feel confident in your blogging abilities, and you are making some money from this endeavor, then you can think about cutting back your 9 to 5 hours or quitting altogether.
The Final Fear
This is the ‘what if’ fear: what happens if you don’t take this chance to start your own blog? Then you ask yourself, “What if I am stuck in this job for the next 40 years?” Scary thoughts.
As we get older, we discover that one of the worst fears is REGRET. This is because we realize that at that point in our lives it’s too late to do anything about the missed opportunities. The dreams of youth are now a distant memory.
Now ask yourself which fear scares you the most…
