Increasing Your Income by Overemployment – Part 1. We live in a world where raging inflation destroys more and more of your earnings.
Plus, household debt is at an all time high. Therefore many people have to search for ways to boost their income.
Overemployment, a trend born out of necessity, is when workers take on multiple jobs.
Traditionally, they’d have to eat away at their personal time, working the jobs consecutively.
But if done right, they can do them concurrently, earning double or triple the amount they would in one position.
And while many are working for others, the trend is now evolving into a self-employment pursuit, so they’re looking for any and all options on how to work for themselves from home.
This means toiling away at one full-time job, often followed by a second, leaving you with precious little time for family or self-care. But now there’s a brighter way.
This two part article teaches them the options available to them.
Remote work has always been something that people have sought in an effort to avoid having to stack jobs. Of course, they also want to avoid the daily commute to an office place.
Yet, until the pandemic unexpectedly arrived, remote work was a distant vision for most. Then, everything changed.
As businesses shut down and experimented with remote work, employees experienced a newfound freedom. No more battling traffic, no more office expenses, and no more workplace stress. It was a taste of life unburdened.
When the pandemic receded and companies tentatively returned to in-office operations, something remarkable happened.
Large Number of Employees Rebel
A large number of employees rebelled and sought permanent remote work. Some found jobs with lower pay but cherished their newfound freedom.
Rather than surrendering their autonomy and returning to the traditional office grind, they chose to take on multiple jobs. This allows them to meet their financial goals or make ends meet.
This revolution often occurred discreetly, with individuals secretly juggling different roles, leading to both rewards and challenges.
While managing multiple careers in the same limited hours can be demanding, it offers a lifeline to those seeking a better work-life balance and financial security. It’s a testament to human resilience and the pursuit of a brighter, more flexible future.
Many were only able to find lower paying positions. So instead of giving up their freedom and returning to the workplace, they simply began taking on multiple jobs. This way they achieve the financial goals they set for themselves, and even make ends meet.
This was done in secret, getting hired by different companies who all believed you were working a full time job for them alone.
This can sometimes be managed adequately if the workload is light enough. Other times it causes problems when you are trying to juggle two different careers in the same amount of hours.
A different option exists for individuals who want to work from home, but instead of working for other companies, you can embrace that overemployment mindset to develop multiple streams of income online working for yourself.
Below, you will find a plan that helps you continue working from home (or anywhere you choose) without having to sneak around behind your employers’ backs. Or worry about not being able to get your work done.
First, let’s take a look at your options for solo entrepreneurial work. Then we’ll talk about selecting those that work for you. Then we’ll talk about how to integrate a plan that helps you leverage the overemployed concept. This is easier and more lucrative than being employed by multiple companies.
Tapping Into Client-Based Income
Instead of working in a job where you are catering to the clients of a corporation, why not start a business of your own where you have your own clients that you work for? Not only can you pick and choose who you work with, but you can set your prices, your hours, and your availability.
There are many different online options that allow you to work from home where you have clients who need your help. Let’s talk about five of the most common ones.
The First is a Ghostwriter
There are many individuals and brands that need someone to create their website copy, sales letters, press releases, blog content, and social media content as well. You can find jobs on third party freelance platforms. Or start your own website where you can attract clients directly to a page where they can hire you.
Virtual Assistants
Virtual assistants are also in demand online. These individuals step up and handle much of the work that other companies and marketers don’t have time for. This can include things like answering customer service emails, posting content to their blog.
You may also be queueing up emails that will go out to their subscribers, and even handling things like technical updates for WordPress.
If you have a good eye for design, you may want to start out as a Graphic Designer online. If you take a look at platforms like Fiverr and Upwork, you’ll see that many brands and individuals hire freelance service providers to create things like eBook covers, banner ads, website graphics and more.
Partial Management
Managing specific aspects of someone else’s business can be a lucrative position, too – while maintaining your self employment status. Affiliate managers are those who handle all of the tasks associated with a product launch in regard to recruiting and managing affiliates.
If another marketer is launching an info product, they will be busy with the product development and copywriting. They will expect you to identify who would be a good affiliate for their product. You will also reach out to them, and get them on board by giving them a review copy. Plus directing them to the joint venture (JV) page with all of the details.
You may want to try your hand at being a social media manager instead. With this position, you will be handling the profiles and accounts of entrepreneurs and brands that need someone savvy to set up their profile and make a strategic plan for their content marketing efforts on those platforms.
You can specialize in certain platforms, such as TikTok or YouTube. Or you can take an approach where you handle all of the tasks across different platforms.
This would include creating content that will resonate with their audience. Also engaging with their customers, and ultimately delivering more traffic to their site that they can convert into sales.
Promote for Others
In the traditional corporate world, you may have had to tout the benefits and features of a product that the company that you worked for created. But with the entrepreneurial option of overemployment, one of the income streams that you set up can be the promotion of products and brands that you believe in and can get paid for whenever someone purchases through your link.
When you sign up to promote products as an affiliate marketer, on platforms like Amazon, ClickBank, Share-a-Sale, Commission Junction, and elsewhere, you’ll get a unique link that is tracked for every conversion you make into a sale.
Then, as those commissions add up, you’ll get a check sent to your home or a deposit made into your PayPal or bank account. It’s a great way to earn money without having to create anything other than content that makes recommendations.
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing requires you to have some way of spreading the word to the audience. You can do this by setting yourself up on social media platforms that allow you to include affiliate links, by creating your own blog or both.
You’ll have to learn the rules of each platform and what they allow. For example, you’ll be able to include links in every YouTube video that you create. But on TikTok, you’ll only have one link in your profile, so you’ll need to use a tool like LinkTree that opens up into more options.
Setting up a WordPress blog is very easy. All you need is a cheap domain name and a minimal hosting account. You’ll be able to install WordPress in mere minutes, and use built-in templates known as themes to make your site look professional.
Then, all you have to do from that point on is figure out what your target audience is looking for and write reviews on it.
These reviews will be optimized for search engines so that your content gets ranked high. Thus whenever someone goes to Google looking for information about those products, your review will come up.
Social Media Influencer
Sponsored ads are also an option for people who want to promote other people’s products. This works well if you want to be a social media influencer. But it also works if you accept sponsored posts on your blog.
Instead of getting paid when someone converts, the brand or individual will pay you upfront for creating content that promotes their goods. The more followers you have or the more traffic you have to your website, the more you can charge for your sponsored posts.
