Turbocharge Your Online Coaching – Using the expertise and insight you’ve gained over the years to parlay it into a coaching gig is a smart way to tap into online earnings. If you enjoy working one on one with clients or in groups, this can be an amazing career path to carry you through your golden years.
If you’re already coaching, and want to expand your online empire, there are several ways you can go about it. This might allow you to tap into more passive income, earn more, and generally elevate your role in guiding people to their best life.
You probably take a lot of joy in being able to help others achieve their goals. Whether you are seeing a transformation in their relationships, health, or success, it can be a source of pride that brings you a lot of enjoyment.
But you have your own journey, too. You have gone from a coach who knows the basic, fundamental tasks to someone who is ready to offer more and gain more with an advanced strategy in place.
Give Your Clients a Next-Level Coaching Experience
You may have started off in your coaching career simply appreciating the idea that you could get paid for your advice or insight. But as you build your business, you’ll find that different clients need a different approach in how you step up to serve them.
For example, you may have some clients who have past trauma that they find hard to get past. You might want to use a system of EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) to help them eliminate the stress of it.
Or, you may use something as simple as cognitive reframing to help them break the traditional narrative they have been going off of so that they can finally take a new path toward their goals.
There are different coaching styles and methodologies that you need to be learning so that you can apply them to your clients’ lives and see what works best in each situation. You have to learn how to put yourself in the shoes of the client to see how they are viewing the certain situation and then be able to pick and choose from your toolbox as to how you get them to better themselves.
One thing you may have been doing to date, that you can improve upon is instead of having a one-size-fits-all coaching program that you developed early on, you can start tailoring your advice to each individual.
Hybrid Programs
There are also hybrid programs where you might have an overall coaching plan, such as your onboarding system, that then branches off into something more tailored for each person’s problems.
When you are working with people from a variety of different backgrounds, you’re going to realize that each one has a different barrier that you have to break down in order to help them.
Some may instantly put their trust in you, while others need you to win them over. You might have to learn how to use different communication devices, such as a Zoom call rather than just emails or phone calls.
You can also elevate your client experience by helping them track their progress with you. It’s easy for people to go through coaching and be so focused on each session, that they can’t see how far they have come.
Find Your Specialty in Coaching
You may have started off as a broad coach who handled everything under the sun, including general life coaching, job coaching, relationship coaching, financial coaching, and more.
But there’s a level of distrust in someone who appears to be a Jack of all trades and a master of none. People need to know that you are a specialty coach who brings something unique and fully understands their issues in a way that can help them.
Even if you have the ability to coach in different areas, you may want to set up different sites specifically based on those keyword phrases instead of having one website that pulls in a wide range of people, only to see them bounce away because they feel as if you are too diluted in your knowledge.
You may want to specialize based on the demographics you are serving. For example, you might be a weight loss coach who only helps women or those over 40. You could be a relationship coach that works with married couples, rather than single individuals who are looking for that perfect someone.
You’ll want to have a blog of your own, along with social media accounts that you can showcase your specialized expertise and show that you are a cutting edge leader that understands their unique needs and is willing to help them in a way that is tailored just for their goals.
Anytime you learn something new, you want to share it with your audience so that they know you are on a path of continual learning. No one wants to turn to someone who is stuck with an outdated mindset or limited perspective on their problem.
Recruit High-End Coaching Clients
There are many coaches who have turned their basic, in person or online coaching program into something top tier. You can focus on attracting high end clients, which doesn’t necessarily mean it’s an individual with a lot of money.
While that is also a strategy, you can also attract clients such as a corporation that hires you to coach their employees to greater success with speaking arrangements, or even a news broadcast that hires you to come on for a specific spot where you offer advice to their viewers.
In order to achieve this goal, you’ll need to be publishing valuable content online that pulls your audience in and gives you the kind of notoriety that people easily find and share with others.
You can do this through the use of in depth workshops such as webinars, or a video series that you put together to highlight the different ways you are able to help your clients and discuss their transformational journeys.
Be sure to put yourself out there as a leader who is willing to participate in expert panels and on platforms where they are in need of some sort of authority figure to speak on certain subjects.
Keep your pricing in line with the kind of clients and companies you want to attract. Remember that charging less doesn’t always bring people onboard – it often repels them because they feel as if your product (your coaching) must be inferior.
Expand Your Business with Mass Market Products
Coaching can be done in many different ways. You may have started by interacting with a client one-on-one or even hosting group coaching programs. You might even use different media formats.
But when it is time to take your coaching to the next level, you might want to mass produce coaching advice that people can devour on their own time without directly interacting with you.
For example, you can launch your own info products. These can be in the form of a membership program that people log into, a digital eBook, or even a print book that you self publish for your target audience.
Starting a podcast or YouTube channel is also a great way to expand your reach and coach people without having to sign them up as a direct client. You can still earn money from all of these methods, but it doesn’t require them to pay the high ticket prices, and you still make more due to the volume of sales you are getting.
Make sure that as you expand your coaching empire, you are taking care of yourself in the process. Sometimes, shouldering the burdens of everyone else can cause people to neglect their own needs, and this is a potential for disaster if you are in your senior years where you need to be engaging in self-care on a regular basis.
